Every year, the Family Center grows a community garden led by Sister Carol and supported by a dedicated group of volunteers. The garden produces a wide range of crops, including eggplant, corn, tomatoes, green peas, red onions, beans, collard greens, and lettuce. The harvested produce goes straight to local residents and area food banks. It also gives children in our community and Friday Club Program the opportunity to see how the food they eat is grown.

Growing your own food teaches you to care for something outside yourself. It takes patience and what grows is always worth the wait. The garden in many ways, a mirror of the Family Center as a whole: something planted with purpose, tended with care, and shared freely with anyone who needs it.
